Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg
About a half an hour from Stuttgart is this mini-Versailles. The tour is the most complete and revealing in Baden-Wurttemberg.
Burg Hohenzollern
The ancestral seat of the Kings of Prussia, Burg Hohenzollern is an impressive castle that sits on a high hill. Rustic and beautiful.
Schloss Sigmaringen
The administrative seat of the Schwaebish Hohenzollerns, this large ornate castle is still used today. The tour takes you through a portion of the rooms, including the royal bathroom.
Heidelberg Schloss
All that is left of the Heidelberg Castle is a ruin. There is an excellent view from the castle, which also houses a pharmacy museum and an extremely large wine barrel.
Burgruine Weibertreu
Just a ruin today, this castle is most impressive because of the history that took place here. Every German has heard the story of the ‘Treue Weiber von Weinsberg’ or the Faithful Wives of Weinsberg.
Schloss Neuschwanstein
Probably the most visited castle in Germany, Schloss Neuschwanstein was the basis of the Snow White castle in Disneyworld. While waiting for your tour, take a walk to the Marien Bruecke.
Schloss Hohenschwangau
Below Neuschwanstein this yellow castle is just as beautiful as its neighbor. Do not miss touring the home of King Ludwig II’s parents.
