One Stop Germany. If you can only get to only one place in Germany, Munich is the place to go. Extensively rebuilt after WWII, the city still has its old charm, interesting buildings, unique history, and plenty of brew houses. You could hit the major sites within a day, but take your time and give yourself a few. If you are going during Oktoberfest be sure to book your hotel early!
