The new Mercedes-Benz museum designed by Dutch UN Studio One is not only the ‘must see’ for the automobile lovers, but also the modern project admired by the architect connoisseurs.
Soon after opening in 2006, the steel and glass futuristic shaped building has been visited by almost a million people in the next year.
The exhibition allows visitors to discover 120 years of history of automobile industry through the most important mobiles of leading German car manufacturer
the company Daimler-Benz AG.
At present Mercedes-Benz is a division of the parent company Daimler AG, which for short time was known as DaimlerChrysler AG.
Among 160 exhibited cars the most important are the first mobile constructions in the world : a three wheel car by Karl Benz from 1886, and a ‘horseless cab’ by Gottlieb Daimler.
The elevators take the visitors to the top of the building, where there are two spiral ways down the Collectors tour and the Legend tour.
The tours cross quite often giving the visitors the possibility to choose the most interesting routes.
Besides the oldest gasoline mobiles on display are the iconic cars, including Silberpfeil – a sportscar from 50’s , the automobiles owned by famous people and various utility cars.
